Atlanta Dog Trainer Darin Shepherd is the exclusive recommendation by Royal Paws

"After Darin trained my akita, Paris, I enjoy beach trip every year since where she is off-leash for five days without a worry.  How many akitas do you know that have 100% recall each and every time?  I know two - Paris and my other akita, Delos both trained by Sit Means Sit. I thank them every day because I can truly enjoy my dogs without ANY worry of being able to call them back. "

Royal Paws Recommends the following points in your evaluation process to select the appropriate trainer for your beloved dog:

  • Observe the behavior and manner of the Trainers Dog's
  • Be weary of a trainer that is unaware of risk posed to dog or puppy by  advocating public dog park socialization, puppy agility or socialization of puppies pre-vaccinations.
  • Observe the behavior and manners of the dogs that have been trained by the trainer. Many of our members have enjoyed training by our recommended trainers so do not hesitate to ask that well mannered dog's owner who has trained their dog
  • Request the trainer to provide references from dog owners who have completed their classes
  • Be sure your desired outcome for training match the trainer's ability and success
  • Observe a training class with the trainer. Also request for you and your dog to have an interview with the instructor to evaluate knowledge, comfort and possible training options
  • Pick a trainer that has expertise in many areas of dog training to demonstrate inherit dog behavior understanding
  • Select the trainer that both your dog and yourself are comfortable with
  • Ask the trainer about his or her experience

Training is a life-long commitment for the safety, health, happiness and welfare of both you and your dog. We recommend before starting a training class, that you are prepared to undertake the time and energy required to realize full benefits. The Royal Paws Dog Park expects each dog that visits the park to be under command and control but truly applaud any attempts to further your dogs education which will enhance your dogs quality of life, as well that of any people of other dogs that your dog may encounter.

Puppy Socialization and Development of Manners: We understand that socializing your puppy and teaching them good manners as soon as you can is a life-long gift you can give to them. Our secure park and our experienced, mature staff in doggie daycare make us the exclusive choice for puppy's to learn social skills and good dog manners.

Puppy Obedience: Even if your puppy is doing really well in obedience training that you started the day the puppy came home with you, we understand that running off-leash and playing with friends in a large area will often be more important to your puppy than your recall command. For your puppy's safety and enjoyment through this learning curve, we screen out aggressive dogs and always have our staff onsite to make us the safe choice for this period of your puppy's learning. With all of the space for your puppy to run and all the nice dogs to play with, we are the perfect place "with distractions" to work on your puppy's "come" command while you are socially developing. As your puppy tires from running on our sloping hills or from swimming in our lake, you can easily sharpen your puppy's recall after just a few visits. Our trained staff will be happy to help you while off-leash and any of our experienced and trusted dog trainers will be happy talk with you about puppy training options.

Puppy Requirements: We ask that for the safety of your puppy that have completed all series of puppy vaccinations including the adult booster of Parvo and Rabies before playing with unknown dogs, including visiting our facilities.
