National Mutt Day
Every Dog has a story, and on national Mutt day, we celebrate the incredible mixed breed dogs that give their love to families around the world. Observed every July 31st and December 2nd, National Mutt day shines light on the mixed-breed dogs that bring so much joy to our lives while also raising awareness for the countless mutts waiting in shelters for a second chance.

National Mutt Day was created by animal advocate Colleen Paige to encourage adoption and remind people that the best dog for your family isn’t always the one with a well-known breed name. Many have spent weeks or even months waiting for someone to give them a chance, and this holiday serves as a twice a year reminder for families to visit their local shelters or rescues before searching for specifics.
